Diving on the Barbaira torrent

During the summer period (from June until August) the “Bauxi Gianchi” association is organizing exciting excursions. Those include excursions along the Barbaira torrent practicing some canyoning. The association is composed by motivated group of canyoning lovers that are dedicating all their free time to the development and promotion of this singular sport. The descent of the torrent is performed by hiking, diving and rope climbing on the torrent’s location, passing by wonderful mountain lakes, suggestive rocky passages and hiking trails on the torrent’s side. Everyone that wants to join this sport must have an average skill level in swimming, diving and being in healthy condition. It is not possible to join such sport if one has specific kind of motion limitations or restrictions that might be in conflict with the efforts required. On the over line this excursionist trip can be summarized as follows: Starting from the near village of Rocchetta Nervina (IM), the correct required equipment will be distributed to the group that will proceed along a 30 minutes hiking trail of lower level difficulty. That trail will lead to an ancient stone bridge that would become the starting point of the Canyoning activity. After having worn the canyoning equipment , an expert guide will lead the group towards the 4-6 hours downhill path on the Barbaira torrent. At the end of the trip (and after a short break), the group will be guided to the removal of the equipment and to the last 10 minutes hiking path towards Rocchetta Nervina (starting and ending point of the trip). Those trips are organized for groups of 4 participants minimum and the cost is for each participant. This cost will take care of the registration fees and of the equipment renting. The association will provide:

Neoprene Wetsuit
Helmet
Security Longes
Ropes and Linking systems
Hooks and specific security attachments
Group’s material for the excursion

Our dear partecipants must bring with them

Swimwear
Second changing clothes
Towel
Socks
sport Shoes made of Vibram or with high resistance and grip on wet surfaces
Snack e bevande

All the participants are suposed and invited to respect the environment, to follow the advise of the group’s leaders and to bring back all the rented equipment in a good shape. For Underage children (less than 18 years old) a parent’s authorization is required. All the guides are offering their experience from an amatorial level.
